Most notably they have become a yearly attraction at the James Dean Festival in Fairmount, Indiana, opening for such bands as Buddy Holly's Crickets, Jack Scott, The Buck Ram Platters, Danny and the Jrs. featuring Joe Terry, The Diamonds featuring Dave Sommerville, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Original Comets, The Charlie Thomas Drifters, Mark Lindsay (original lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders), Mitch Ryder and Lou Christie.
Surrender Dorothy plays a mixture of oldies, classic rock, old time honky-tonk and originals. Their set list features material from such diverse acts as The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams Sr., The Kinks, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets, Eric Clapton, Johnny Rivers, ELO, The Monkees, Conway Twitty, Del Shannon, Bruce Springsteen and many more.
